In particular, we’re seeking a video creator to build out our video library in Mechanical Engineering at the intro college (freshman and sophomore) level. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.


  • Independently plan and execute the creation of videos covering core Mechanical Engineering concepts at the intro college level
  • Modifying content based on review feedback


  • Extremely strong command of the content covered in intro college courses (freshman and sophomore year) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience teaching Mechanical Engineering, formally or informally
  • Great intuition for how students like to learn and insight into common misconceptions
  • A passion for education and a desire to change the world


  • This is a year-long, 20-40 hour per week remote contractor position with the ability to extend based on performance and Khan Academy’s needs.


Submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your background in Mechanical Engineering and why you’re interested in the position. In addition, complete the following task:

1) Choose an important concept in Mechanical Engineering.

Create a video (<10 mins) that would help a student in an intro college course learn this concept. Write 1-2 paragraphs explaining why you chose this concept and what students tend to find challenging about this concept.
