Mechanical Technician

We are looking for a self-motivated Mechanical Technician to join our Operations team at SPT Labtech. They will be involved in the manufacture of our Mosquito Tape Consumable.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain ‘breeder’ machines (including troubleshooting) with focus on achieving production targets.
  • Maintain production records and work with the QC team on scrap reduction and quality improvements.
  • Provide assistance to the QC team as regards quality of product and investigation of returns and customer complaints.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities within the team
  • Inspecting incoming raw materials and working with supply chain on related improvements
  • Ensure compliance to ISO9001: 2015 and Quality System Standards.
  • Ensure compliance too Health and Safety Laws and regulations. 

Skills & Attributes

You will be/have:

The essentials:

  • Experience with mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, PLC’s, camera inspection would all be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to learn new skills and follow procedures as directed.
  • Methodical and meticulous approach to problem solving.
  • Some understanding of lean/modern manufacturing practices desirable but not essential.
  • IT literate, with ability to interpret statistical information and take appropriate action.
  • Desire to maintain and promote a safe, clean, tidy and amicable working environment.
  • Motivated, self-starter who can prioritise their workload independently.
