Media Manager

 BuzzFeed Video is searching for an exceptional Media Manager to bring structure and organizational skills to our Branded team. We are looking for smart, skilled, passionate self-starters to join our growing team.

 Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of digital media and hard drives
  • Daily management of data on shared storage
  • Archiving all of data across multiple formats
  • Create and manage an asset management database/system
  • Assist with digital asset management and archiving including transferring, renaming, labeling, adjusting, backing up and uploading
  • Assist with downloading, formatting and distributing clips and video footage
  • Management of team and client-specific content in an organized consistent manner including keyword tagging, naming, and project reference
  • Maintain accurate procedures and records for the system, house assets in a safe and protected manner
  • Monitor media storage free space, routine maintenance and purging of the system, troubleshoot problems reported by users and escalating issues to the IT department.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures as needed
  • Train others in accessing system to retrieve assets
  • Anticipate future growth needs and follow up with appropriate strategy and execution

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Communication, Media Management, Information Technology or related field
  • Must have fundamental understanding of video standards, frame rates, aspect ratio & data bitrates
  • Quantum SAN admin experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of AWS Glacier / cloud based storage
  • Experience as an assistant editor is a plus
  • Working knowledge of all Post Production processes
  • Proficient in Google Apps or Microsoft Office
  • Proactive & a self starter
  • Must be meticulous, technical, organized, and creative at the same time
  • Ability to work independently and under close direction
