We are looking for a motivated Merchandising Assistant who will work directly with the Category Management team to assist with clerical tasks and data entry related specifically to the Merchandising department. Reporting directly to the Senior Category Manager, you will frequently communicate with members of the merch team, the distribution centers, external brand partners, and other teams in the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting multiple tight deadlines, and have a passion and dedication for the department and business!

Responsibilities

  • Assist Category Management team with new product and vendor set up process, which includes data entry, sample coordination and photography coordination
  • Responsible for vendor onboarding (paperwork, pricing review, new item forms & sample requests)
  • Closely manage new item setup process and ensure an accurate and timely launch for all new SKUs
  • Assist buyers in maintaining, tracking, and organizing product photography and brand submission samples
  • Item maintenance for both direct and distribution brands, including but not limited to, cost changes, packaging changes, discount audits etc
  • Promotional coordination and processing with vendors
  • Assist in building reports and special projects
  • Promotional coordination and processing with vendors
  • Preps for Trend Meetings and Quarterly Show & Tell with marketing
  • Initiates opening Purchase Orders with new brands & new items

Qualifications

  • College Degree required
  • Strong Excel, Powerpoint and Google docs experience required
  • Ability to work as part of a team and cross functionally
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Eager to learn and take on new responsibilities
