Modification Team Lead
Role Overview
We have a unique opportunity to support our OPG Services Department as a Modification Team Lead (MTL). As an MTL, you will play an active role in supporting project managers in the co-ordination of engineering and construction work. The Modification Team Lead (MTL) is accountable for organizing, coordinating, and controlling of all stages of project management in accordance with our clients Engineering Change Control process for Minor Modifications and/or Modifications across all phases from initiation to closeout, as circumstances require. As part of this role, you will drive the end-to-end delivery of nuclear projects and will work closely with our team to make sure projects are successfully delivered to our customers.
This position requires working on site at OPG.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager with communication and updates for schedule, forecasts and actuals, and quality issues.
- Supports installation and commissioning strategy and logic, as well as operating scheduling or outage scheduling and integration
- Supports Operations and Maintenance procedure updates and other work planning documentation. Experience with creation of technical documentation including Technical Procedure Actions Requests (TPARs), workplans, turnover strategies, etc. Supports and creation of Operations Turnover Plan (OTP) and turnover strategy memo.
- Monitor pre-installation activities, including, Work assessment activities, Documentation required for installation, such as any Fabrication Installation Package Releases (FIPRs) or Comprehensive Work Packages (CWPs) or Technical Procedure Action Requests (TPARs), drill cards, or permitry, PB packages, Temporary operating instructions, Holds cleared.
- Able to ensure all Cat IDs have been set to READY for all Cat IDs on a DBOM that are required including critical spares. Work with vendor to ensure materials procured, or with Supply Chain to internally procure materials
- Support commissioning, turnover, and close out coordination activities in accordance with N-PROC-MP-0090
What you bring to the table?
- University Degree in an Engineering discipline and PMP certification or equivalent experience
- You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing all aspects of the project life cycle and familiarity with the principles of project management for scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, stakeholders, and procurement or be willing to learn
- Familiarity with Bruce Power or OPG processes (OPG preferred)
- You have training and experience as a modification team lead in the nuclear industry.
- You have experience either directly or indirectly with the design, development or operation of a nuclear facility or in the development, manufacture or production of nuclear materials or components or in an industrial environment associated with the design, development, operation or maintenance of industrial systems and equipment.
- Excellent communication both written and verbally to track actions to completion, record decisions, identify and mitigate risks, share lessons learned
- You can positively interact with stakeholders independently, escalate issues, manage risk, and manage project schedules, and support adherence to budgets.
- Experience with leading a team in support of the Modification Process N-PROC-MP-0090 including creation of the Master Engineering Change and associated Modification Outline, Design Scoping Checklist and associated documentation as well as experience with Asset Suite for the modification process
- Experience working with station stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, System responsible Engineer, station design, Regulatory Affairs, etc.)
- Experience in initiating Material Requests (MRs) and communication with Supply Chain and vendors to ensure material delivery
- Experience in arranging and facilitating a Constructability, Operability, Maintainability, and Safety (COMS) reviews and associated documentation
- Existing Security Clearance at Bruce Power or OPG an asset
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
