Network Engineer:

Axon is looking for a Network Engineer to help design, deploy, and support our technology within a police agency's network environment.  The Network Engineer will be based out of the  Axon Seattle office. Some travel is needed for customer visits.

The Network Engineer will provide:

  • Tier 2 deployment support
  • Firewall and VPN configuration, documentation
  • Router and AP specification, selection, configuration, testing, and servicing
  • Server hardware (store & forward) specification, selection, configuration, testing, and servicing
  • Network design


Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining the product network architecture for new products
  • Owns decision on what network equipment is needed for the success of our products and the selection, installation, and servicing of that equipment
  • Establish the ideal networking environment for our products by designing customer system configurations and create repeatable processes that others can follow
  • Ensure that product installations are well documented and consistent
  • Maximize product performance within a certain networking environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ progressive experience with routers, switches, firewalls and WiFi networks
  • Proven knowledge of network segmentation and industry best practices
  • 5+ years experience troubleshooting and supporting complex network infrastructures
  • 5 + years experience issuing and managing internal and external security certificates
  • Experience with load balancers
  • Experience with multiple networking technologies and environments


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS/CIS) or related field
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience with cloud computing and various hosting models
  • Expert knowledge of information security and experience securing systems and networks
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards
  • Vendor management experience 
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization
  • Outstanding customer service skills and professionalism. Excellent customer service demeanor.
  • Ability to adjust to constantly shifting priorities.
  • Strong problem solving skills
