Purpose of the Role:
The Network Operations role for NEXTEV USA, Inc. in San Jose is responsible for maintaining our network services and infrastructure. S/he will be responsible for the design and implementation of any network services and assets and bridges communication amongst external and internal customers, stakeholders, and service providers to ensure effective execution. S/he must be hands-on and understand and exercise best practices when it comes to network security, incident management, and orchestrating the design and deployment of a scalable and secure network. Experience and understanding of the challenges of global network implementation and how to work through those difficulties is essential. Often working in concert with international counterparts, this opportunity requires a team player who understands their responsibility/impact on projects with global implications.
Key Responsibilities
✓       Drive and deliver implementation of cloud, physical, and virtual network infrastructure for NEXTEV USA, Inc
✓       Managing continual upgrade process and uptimes for all relevant infrastructure
✓       Report out and communicate status/issues, SLAs, performance, incident responses with various stakeholders in a timely manner
✓       Researches industry trends, products, equipment, etc., for the purpose of recommending upgrades
✓       Able to identify network performance issues and subsequently, manage the healing process
✓       Optimizes, improves, and scales network architecture to ensure system performance meets business requirements
Preferred Qualifications
✓       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
✓       7-10 years’ experience administering and managing networks infrastructure, including firewall, switches, routers, wireless and network monitoring systems
✓       Knowledge: IOS, NX-OS, PAN-OS, IGP/EGP, QoS, 802.11, AWS and Azure Networking, IPsec VPN, TCP/IP
✓       Hands-on experience with network system service, diagnostic and analytics tools
✓       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✓       Experience with global collaboration, specifically with Chinese and/or EU entities
✓       General understanding of Windows and Linux, Virtualization, and hardware/software best practices
✓       Good time management skills
✓       Proven documentation skills, including network designs and diagrams
✓       Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work collaboratively and independently
✓       Good grasp of infosec policies, particularly in the data/credential management/handling area
✓       Ability to work in a fluid/fast-paced environment with constant change
✓       CCIE or other Cisco credentials preferred
✓       Ability to demonstrate a methodical and effective approach to projects and deadlines
✓       Data Center experience preferred
