FutureLearn is transforming access to education and is one of the world’s largest social learning platforms.
Based in London’s Camden Town, we offer online courses, programs and degrees run by over 100 leading universities from around the world including UCL, University of California Berkeley, University of Edinburgh, University of Melbourne, King’s College London, Purdue University and University of Groningen. We also work offer online courses from specialist education providers including CIPD, UNESCO and the Raspberry PI foundation.
Our vision is a global community, where everyone learns together and enjoys access to the education they need to transform their lives. Our award-winning platform helps by provoking conversation around the course material, so that learners and educators learn as much from each other as from the material itself.
Since our launch in September 2013, we’ve run thousands of courses that have attracted over 8 million learners from all over the world. We've seen over 19 million enrolments on our open online courses and are now working with our partners to pioneer a more modular and accessible approach to studying full degrees.
We are continuing our expansion as we make this journey from offering short online courses, through micro credentials to full online degrees and working with employers and governments to reduce skills gaps. The pace of this change is reflected in extremely rapid growth of our revenues.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Partnership Manager at FutureLearn you’ll manage relationships with world-class educational partners from around the globe to deliver high-quality online courses which uphold FutureLearn’s vision of social learning.
Partnership Managers are collectively responsible for the quality of our portfolio of courses. You'll work closely with our partners to understand their motivations in working with us, give them confidence and inspire them to make the most of the partnership's potential.
We know what makes a great FutureLearn course and we advise our partners, who see us as trusted advisors in course design and development, in how to make the best courses. But most importantly, we recognise that FutureLearn would not exist without the courses our partners produce. Everything we do as Partnership Managers, whether it’s big or small, goes towards strengthening and deepening those relationships.
No matter where you currently are in your career, it’s a role that will allow you to develop and gain experience at the forefront of educational technology, while working with some of the biggest global names in education.
The team is led by our Managing Director, Courses & Learning. You will report to a Senior Partnership Manager, working closely with other Partnership Managers, our Learner Experience Lead and the wider multidisciplinary team at FutureLearn.
You can see the specific skills required for role on the Partnership Manager (Junior) core competency framework.
We aim for an inclusive hiring process, and we want to focus on your skills rather than using the names of your schools or employers as proxies for quality. For this reason, instead of asking you to send us a CV and covering letter. To apply, click APPLY FOR THIS JOB at the bottom of this advert and you will be prompted to complete 5 application form questions.
Candidates usually take between 60 to 90 minutes to answer all five questions - it might take you longer or less time. We expect each answer to be between 150 and 400 words long. It is not possible to save your responses as ‘drafts’ so you may want to write your answers in a separate document and copy and paste them into the form when you’re happy with them.
Most of the questions relate directly to the skills listed in our core competency framework for Partnership Managers. We’d love to hear about real-life examples but, as you’ll see, not all of the questions are asking exclusively about work. What we care about most is your ability to do this job, not that you’ve had direct experience doing a similar job. So, if you’d rather give us an example that’s not work related that’s absolutely fine.
The closing date for applications is 10am UK time on 24th February.
Candidates who are longlisted to the next stage of the process will be asked to complete a typical task involved in the actual job.
FutureLearn is an equal opportunities organisation who value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. We are especially keen to encourage applications from people currently under-represented, including those from the LGBT+ community, neurodiverse people, people with disabilities, and those from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.
