The Role

We are growing our Addepar People team by adding a People Operations & Office Manager in our Edinburgh, Scotland office. This hands-on position will be responsible for providing the full spectrum of People Operations (HR) services and onsite office support, with a focus on our Addepar UK population in our Edinburgh and London office locations.

This key member of the People Operations team will be responsible for supporting a variety of programmes, processes, and practices, including employee onboarding, leave management, compensation, immigration, benefits, systems, exit interviews, and compliance. In addition, this role is our first People & Workplace hire in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will have an enthusiasm for the challenge, problem-solving, and a passion for process improvement, as well as experience with office management. This role will require flexibility in thinking and an ability to adjust quickly to address new priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries from our UK employee base on a wide range of topics from office snacks to parental leave, and everything in between
  • Collaborate with the team to help run our benefits and perks programmes in the UK, from day-to-day administration to advising on customary practices during renewal planning
  • Help support employee morale programming and initiatives, such as wellness events and happy hours
  • Run the onboarding experience for new hires and help welcome new Addepeeps to the office
  • Provide administration for people systems (e.g., benefits, pension plans, HCM)
  • Provide support for special projects within the greater People & Workplace team as needed
  • Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle across Europe
  • Advise and provide situational coaching to managers on employee relations, People policies and processes, and other related topics
  • Partner with US based People Business Partners on employee relations issues, conduct interviews, and draft investigation reports
  • Collaborate with the People Business Partners on organisation changes in the UK
  • Day-to-day management of our Edinburgh and London offices, including occasional travel to London as needed, as well as cross-functional collaboration with our Workplace, IT, and Recruiting teams to support employees in these locations

Who You Are

  • You possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in a fast-paced, growing tech company
  • You are comfortable making decisions independently and exhibit strong problem-solving in the moment
  • You understand the importance of customer experience and are highly responsive to all inquiries
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can stay organised without missing a small detail
  • You know how to prioritise your time and can handle multiple projects at once
  • You enjoy learning new tools and systems and pick them up quickly
  • You understand the sensitivity of confidential information (and understand there is usually a human on the other end of it)
  • You can advise on benefits and perks programmes in the UK
  • You are always aiming to improve the process, the experience, and yourself
  • You have in-depth knowledge of UK laws, guidelines, and compliance regulations relative to employment
  • You have strong proficiency with HCM systems (Workday & BambooHR preferred), and Google Suite.
