Untappd is seeking an innovative, motivated People Operations Specialist who is interested in gaining invaluable experience & exposure to the inner-workings of the most exciting tech company in the alcoholic beverage space. The People Operations Specialist will contribute to and execute on human resources strategies to support the needs of Untappd’s leaders and employees. The People Operations Specialist must be able to function as a collaborative and influential business partner to Untappd leaders & employees while focusing on crucial, time-sensitive projects. In this role, no two days will be the same as you will have the opportunity to meaningfully grow your HR skills and contribute deeply to the growth of Untappd. The ideal candidate will possess a polished, proactive, resourceful and flexible demeanor, and will be successful by maintaining exceptional attention to detail while developing strong partnerships throughout the organization.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Document, maintain, and organize employee records
  • Support onboarding related activities & new employee processing
  • Administer health and benefits plans including enrollments, changes and terminations
  • Process required documents for insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and enrollment
  • HRIS administration & maintenance
  • Responsible for administering payroll & maintaining payroll records
  • Coordinate and manage offboarding related activities – in partnership with the Director, Human Resources on sensitive separations
  • Support the implementation & migration to a new HRIS system
  • Perform benefits orientations for new hires & ensure onboarding paperwork is complete
  • Prepare confidential employee documents for Human Resources & recruitment related purposes
  • Support diversity & inclusion efforts and liaise with Employee Resource Groups
  • Organizational chart management
  • Assist with the administration of recognition programs
  • Maintain physical and digital employee records
  • Support the development of HR programs & policies
  • Work with the Director, Human Resources to creatively solve problems and assist clients with requests, workflow, and questions
  • Keep up to date on latest HR trends & best practices
  • Conduct research and create presentations as needed
  • Set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with minimal direction
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents
  • Develop strong relationships of trust with stakeholders & clients
  • Other miscellaneous duties and projects assigned, as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist
  • Hands-on experience as administrator of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Experience managing the transition to a new HRIS and/or payroll system strongly preferred
  • Strong people skills, including the ability to work professionally with leadership, external associates, and the Untappd team at all levels
  • Solid understanding of United States labor legislation, understanding of international labor legislation a plus
  • Familiarity with full cycle recruiting, experience in talent acquisition preferred
  • Nimble and flexible in work style
  • Experience managing payroll processes & reporting
  • Superior relationship development skills and embraces operating in a highly collaborative and communicative environment
  • Ability to manage complex work requiring the use of independent judgment and initiative
  • Strong consultative approach and ability to proactively provide feedback
  • Highly experienced in meeting deadlines, prioritizing work and driving quality results
  • Works with a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and strong follow-up skills
  • Ability to make decisions and establish new processes in ambiguity
  • Ability to adjust quickly to a rapidly changing environment
  • Maintains a positive, professional demeanor under pressure
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Approaches work with a strong sense of purpose, competence, authority and compassion
  • Regularly applies critical thinking to understanding and resolving issues
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, HR systems and Google Apps

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Communications or related field required
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

The ideal candidate will work out of our headquarters in Wilmington, NC but we are open to considering remote candidates.
