Planning Manager

Main Purpose:

 

Planning Manager is to serve as a highly visible, key financial liaison to support the broader finance function, and business leaders across the company. This role will lead the planning and forecasting process, and provide meaningful, systematic business reporting and analysis to enhance financial tools and insights. This person also acts as a partner to the business, leverages his/her proven level of financial expertise, seasoned business perspective, a partnering and service oriented style, and effective communications skills to drive great performance.

 

Accountabilities:

 

  1. Lead development of budget (Plan), quarterly forecasts (Guidance), weekly rolling forecast on P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow for overall Agoda business. Drive data quality and forecast accuracy at 90% or better
  2. Ensure continuous improvement in the quality, timeliness and reliability of management information and source data, both internal and external
  3. Analyze financial performance through financial reporting, financial statement analysis and variance explanations. Interpret financial data, identifying ways to increase effectiveness, discover expense savings, and improve asset utilization
  4. Improve financials models/tools to support robust planning and forecasting process as well as variance analysis
  5. Partner with business function leaders to identify risks and opportunities on top line and bottom line. Find mitigation plan for gap closing. Follow-up on the implementation of ideas/actions.
  6. Prepare monthly financials performance report and update Senior Management. Summarizes, distills, and presents data in a manner that transforms it into meaningful and actionable information
  7. Liaise with PCLN on monthly and quarterly financials submissions and Q&A, as well as Plan, 3-year Plan and Guidance submission
  8. Provide leadership and direction to the team of 3 direct reports. Ensure succession planning & employee development in the team

 

Key Measures:

  1. Manage top line and EBITDA target
  2. Data quality and forecast accuracy at 90% or better
  3. Partner with business functions and Management in managing financials performance and forecasting

 

Key Skills/Experience Required:

 

Critical

  1. BBA and Master degree in Finance or Accounting from a reputable university
  2. Solid technical/functional knowledge in Finance and Accounting
  3. Relevant work experience in Finance, preferably management accounting experience with budget/ forecast process and variance analysis. 3-5 years in Finance manager position with people management exposure
  4. Strong analytical skill and attention to detail
  5. Business partnering mindset to work effectively with cross functions. Strong communication and people skills, able to influence management
  6. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly on Excel
  7. Good written and spoken English
  8. Exceptional ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and focus on priorities
