The Role

We are seeking a Plant Manager (Managing Director) to oversee the operational execution and growth of our premium razor manufacturing operations in Eisfeld, Germany. You will be responsible for the overall execution and financial performance of our factory that produces razor blades and systems that are changing the face of men’s grooming.  In this role you will manage all factory functional departments and be accountable for all KPIs.

What you will do:

Execute

  • Build an execution engine that delivers predictable monthly performance and aggressive quarter over quarter continuous improvement
  • Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines
  • Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost
  • Identify and implement effective KPI’s that drive results
  • Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand

Nurture and Grow a Strong Manufacturing Culture

  • Define the vision, strategy and execution plan to achieve Operational Excellence
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development
  • Establish quality as a differentiator that drives profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Be a hands-on agent of change driving the manufacturing culture of accountability, execution and continuous improvement at all levels in the organization
  • Lead by example and build a strong culture in Eisfeld consistent with Harry’s culture and values
  • Build close relationships and collaborate with global teams (R&D, Finance, HR, Global Supply Chain, Sales, Distribution & Logistics)

Scale the Factory to Meet the Rapid Growth of our Business

  • Attract, retain and proactively develop a pipeline of key talent through coaching, training, experience development and internal/external recruitment
  • Build a high performance Management Team
  • Develop and implement effective systems, policies, and procedures to ensure predictable execution while meeting world-class quality standards
  • Implement, coach and imbed continuous improvement tools throughout the manufacturing organization (e.g. Lean, Kaizen, TQM, etc.)

This might describe you:

  • 20+ years of experience in manufacturing with a career progression through several functional departments (e.g. Production Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Planning, etc.) 
  • Experience with high volume, discrete precision product assembly
  • 5+ years of experience in a Plant Manager role as well as experience as a Managing Director
  • 5+ years of experience in a mid-sized manufacturing company in Germany
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.  MBA is a plus
  • Demonstrated turn-around experience with challenging manufacturing operations
  • A change management guru with hands-on expertise with business process improvement
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing plant financials and control with previous experience owning a factory P&L
  • Experience working for major brands or in a contract manufacturing environment
  • A strong global manufacturing perspective.  Experience working closely with a US parent company a plus
  • Demonstrated success managing a factory in Germany with a works council structure along with experience managing an Eastern Germany factory
  • Strong communicator with an ability to develop insightful perspectives while also hearing those of others - you take the time to communicate to all those that need to hear from you
  • A deep understanding of various manufacturing methods (e.g. high speed metal stamping, steel hardening, 2K injection molding, high speed discrete assembly, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of world class quality methods/tools and standards
  • Agile and emotionally intelligent - working exceptionally well with varying types of people
