What You Will Do 

The Pre-Construction/Purchasing Engineer is responsible for supporting upcoming projects throughout the region. This role collaborates between the Construction and Installation team and multiple departments including; Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain. This position reports to the Pre-Construction Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Pre-Construction/Purchasing Manager in the oversight of project planning and purchasing activities for North America
  • Review Client implementation plans to coordinate Construction and Installation activities
  • Participate in cross functional meetings to plan work including; Engineering, Supply Chain and Project Implementation
  • Review Engineering Documents for completeness to properly execute the work in the field
  • Prepare bid packages for contracting the Installation of Equipment at sites throughout the Region as directed
  • Review bids for completeness and provide analysis for use in final selection of installation contractors, including contracting strategies
  • Job site visits to review existing conditions
  • Coordinate with Site Teams to compile lessons learned to apply to future projects
  • Prepare take-off and review BOM as required for the projects.  
  • Assist in developing a pre-construction schedule and monitor progress
  • Support creation of initial construction/installation schedules for review with Project Teams
  • Plan site logistics with input from the field team
  • Conduct team meetings necessary to coordinate work, provide minutes of meeting to document
  • Present cost, scheduling updates, and budget updates to Manager for review

Who You Are

To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

Minimum:

  • 2-5 Years of experience in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Equipment Installation
  • Education  - BS Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Management or similar

 Preferred (in addition to minimum):

  • 5+ Years Experience in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Equipment Installation
  • MBA or Other Advanced Degree
  • Experience in an International organization in technology, distribution or manufacturing.
  • Experience with AUTOCAD, Revit, Primavera P6, MS Project.

Location:

This position will be Remote and will need to travel 25% of the time.
