As Sprig grows, we are looking to expand our culinary team with talented, driven culinary professionals. The Prep Cook position is a crucial role within our team to ensure all of our food is perfectly prepared. Ordering in three taps is easy, but preparing and delivering high-quality food at scale is not so simple.

-Follow instructions of the Head of Production and Sous Chef’s to properly execute menu vision; ensuring consistency and compliance with Sprig’s recipes, portioning, cooking and waste control guidelines
-Preps assigned items according to the Prep Lists and par levels
-Properly measures and assembles ingredients required for preparing the standard recipes
-Cuts and/or portions meat, fish and poultryUses scale to ensure proper portioning of food items
-Minimizes waste of products
-Cleans, organizes, and maintains walk-in refrigerator, prep, and dry storage area
-Maintains prep area in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
-Rinses and cuts raw food products
-Rotates product according to “First In, First Out” to maintain shelf-life standards
-Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards
-All other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
-Culinary degree preferred
-Experience in high-volume kitchen preferred
-California or equivalent Food Handlers Certification
-General knowledge of common computer software and web browsers sufficient to view and use internal company information
-Professional, enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
-Adjusts to high pressure situations and is open to change
-Self-motivated, takes initiative and willing to acquire new skills
-Bilingual is a plus!
