The Compensation team designs and manages programs aimed at motivating and retaining top talent and enabling our Pay for Performance philosophy. Our work impacts every employee globally through the programs we administer. About the Role

DoorDash is seeking a Principal, Compensation Design to support the growing needs of the DoorDash Compensation function. Your work will help drive establish key infrastructure and the continued development of DoorDash’s compensation programs as the company scales. This role will be responsible for leading the redesign and maintenance of DoorDash’s job architecture and ranges as the business evolves and scales. 

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Develop, implement, communicate and administer total pay programs that align with company strategy and evolving customer and business needs. These programs will align with DoorDash’s compensation philosophy and industry benchmarks
  • Build programs around our base salary and equity compensation as well as other compensation initiatives such as benchmarking, process improvement, job architecture maintenance and incentive programs.
  • Create and present training content for key cross functional stakeholders
  • Own metrics tied to the performance of various compensation programs
  • Manage projects in collaboration with our compensation consultants and other partners to execute pay programs
  • Use your analytical skills to make data driven decisions on structure and design of programs
  • Partner with compensation consultants,, HR Business Partners and recruiters on compensation related matters such as offers, promotions, and internal transfers
  • Manage the compensation budgeting process with finance

  • You have experience designing and building compensation programs including job architectures, pay models, benchmarking approaches at rapidly changing companies
  • You have strong data analysis skills and are an expert storyteller who is able to effectively present those findings to diverse audiences
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and are able to work with stakeholders to find the right questions as well as the right answers
  • You have experience managing relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders in various levels and functions
  • You understand equity compensation and can help redesign equity compensation programs to enable the business to achieve results and retain key talent
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and can adapt to changing business needs
  • You have Workday experience (preferred)
  • You have program management experience (preferred)
  • You have 8+ years of compensation experience in either a consulting or in-house role
  • You have a bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance or other STEM discipline
