New Relic is looking for an experienced architect to help design and build the next generation of instrumentation agents and integrations. If you have a passion for high-throughput (petabyte-scale!) data-ingest and processing, this may be the right job for you.
New Relic's Instrumentation teams are responsible for all of the software that lives in a customer's environment to capture their observability data. This includes our agents, integrations, and now our OpenTelemetry SDKs as well. In this role, you will have a key part to play in helping customers easily push data from any source into New Relic One.
You will work with our agent teams to create awesome new ways for our customers to send data to our platform. Our agents are all open source, so you'll be interacting not only with our engineers but also engineers from our growing open source community. As the OpenTelemetry specification matures, many of our agents will be redesigned to send data in the OTLP format. You will be there to help guide our teams through this transition and help our customers make the best use of these new technologies.
We have a globally distributed development organization with teams spanning a nine-hour swath of timezones. The only way to keep all those teams in sync is through written communications. You'll need to harness your communication skills to facilitate a high level of collaboration.
