Who?

Twilio is looking for a hands-on Principal Engineer to lead the Phone Numbers business unit (part of the Twilio Super Network), designing systems to support product development and associated systems for phone number purchase, management, ops tooling, integration into upstack Twilio products, and compliance (both customer-facing and infrastructural). This role requires expertise with distributed systems architectures, service and microservice design, complex workflow automation in high-scale environments, and secure, compliant data management and associated reporting.

You will need to be able to think at scale, in a way that supports world-class product development, including architecting for devOps support to insure test, staging, and production environment and data integrity. You are also comfortable with designing for and managing large database clusters (e.g. mysql, postgres), and secure and resilient synchronization with company-external data stores. You bring experience with complex distributed systems, working in a Java production system, and comfort with Python, Scala, and the demands of status-related UX implementations. 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

A great day for you would be working alongside multiple but collaborative teams, building solution for Phone Numbers products, internal tooling, security, monitoring, and related reporting and management. You will be helping team to design solutions to support millions of transactions and issuing accurate invoicing for our customers. At the same time, you will be helping more junior developers by mentoring them, providing guidance, and positively influencing their careers. Experience working with distributed teams will be an advantage.
