The Privacy Operations Manager supports Airbnb’s compliance with global privacy laws and helps operationalize the implementation of new privacy standards. This position will help drive the ongoing design, enhancement, and maintenance of Airbnb’s global privacy program.
Support legal, information security, information governance, and business teams with the implementation of global privacy standards and policies
Collaboratively build processes to help drive compliance with existing governance and privacy laws, and produce compliance documentation to reflect that work.
Help support privacy impact assessments and architect solutions to drive PIAs and DPIAs at scale
Ensure compliance and operational risks are identified, escalated to the appropriate team and take appropriate steps to remediate risk
Work with counsel to document all parts of relevant privacy frameworks, and close gaps through interim and long-term solutions.
Deliver data insights and trends to legal, policy, product and other teams, in order to support privacy by design across Airbnb.
Manage the Airbnb Privacy team’s intranet site and socialization of initiatives.
Support data subject rights program and public inquiries.
Help launch and lead management of a privacy compliance tool.
Lead interface with online privacy related certification sites.
8+ years work experience, with demonstrated experience in privacy functions at B2C technology companies.
Advanced knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues related to data privacy laws in the US and EU.
Demonstrated experience working with product and engineering teams to define requirements and implement effective technical tools.
Experience with working with a global privacy program. .
Results driven, collaborative, able to thrive in instances of ambiguity.
A deep passion and respect for the data privacy of users.
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), or equivalent professional certification is not required, but preferred.
Comfortable with project managing a large volume of projects.
