At Hampton Creek, we're obsessed with the idea of starting over in food. For us, that means making it easier for everyone everywhere to eat food that's better for the planet, better for their bodies, affordable and absolutely delicious. In order to achieve this goal, we are researching the 400,000 species of plants on Earth to see how they can be used in food. A big component of making this food accessible is creating scale-up processes. That’s why we are looking for a Process Engineer trainee to join the Process R&D team for 3 months this fall and become embedded in our world of creating delicious, game-changing food.
This is an opportunity to work hands-on in a pilot plant and put your engineering skills to use in a full-time, three-month role focusing on a specific process and unit operation in our functional protein scale-up process. This is a paid role and part of the work will be done off-site at our contract manufacturing location in Canada. You will be involved in pilot plant processing trials and testing, processing sample collection and analysis, review and discussion of results, and optimization of operating parameters at the processing facility with the guidance of the Process Engineering team at Hampton Creek.
You will be partnered with a senior engineer or pilot plant senior associate for the duration of the program. As your expertise deepens, you'll progress to oversee a specific unit operation, monitoring the processing parameters and provide feedback to the plant operators for optimally processing the stream.
You're known for being flexible and have an innate ability to “roll with the punches” in a fast-moving, fast-growing start up environment
