What’s the role?

As Design Manager on our Design Systems team, you will oversee the team that shapes our design system - the DNA of products at Agoda. The design system is a high-impact product as it provides the foundations that all product teams at Agoda build upon. Our goal is to empower our designers, engineers & product organization to build great products consistently and efficiently.

You’ll advocate for the design system across the organization, engaging with key stakeholders and collaborating with all our product teams. You’ll manage and grow a team of designers, and support Agoda’s objective of creating and refining a systematic and unified visual language for our products across mobile and web platforms.

What’s product design management like at Agoda?

Typically, product design managers at Agoda partner with product management and engineering to lead teams passionate about customer outcomes, while mentoring and growing the product designers on that team. 

Day to day, it looks like: 

• Manage stakeholders across design, engineering, brand and product 
• Lead product designers by mentoring and creating career growth opportunities for those on your team
• Partner with Experience Design, Product Management, and Engineering leadership to plan and coordinate work across the Design Systems team to meet strategic goals and roadmap objectives
• Manage and build a team of designers focussed on scale, accessibility, and usability
• Build a great understanding of pain-points and needs from our partners
• Ensure we are building the right tools to help our partners move toward their long-term vision
• Guide teams to deliver well-executed and on-brand experiences by using our design system
• Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for the product design team and its members
• Recruit and hire outstanding design talent and facilitate onboarding of new designers
• Work alongside the broader Design Leadership team to craft our teams’ culture, processes, and tools
• Work with the Product and Design Leadership team to establish a shared long-term vision that elevates design quality and solves for our business needs
