Product Design Manager

About the Role:

We’re looking for a seasoned designer, leader, and collaborator with an amazing track record in hands-on design direction, crafting, and building world-class consumer-facing products to join our Flights Team.  

You will lead the Flights Search team of two product designers and be responsible for one of the most pivotal steps in the user journey, helping Traveller's shortlist and compare the right flight for their needs. 

What we're looking for:

• Strong product design background, working across our consumer-facing Flights experience
• You'll work across the end-to-end product design lifecycle including the relevant sub-disciplines (Service Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Research, etc.) 
• Be an advocate for user-centric design solutions and processes 
• An experienced people manager, you're passionate about developing designers and know how to get the best out of your team 
• Have a profound understanding of how great design drives key business KPIs 
• You’ve been successfully working in complex, product-first businesses, solving difficult challenges across multiple platforms, services and use cases 
• An inspiring designer and manager, you can raise the bar for design and setting new standards 
• You have a proven track record of managing cross-functional stakeholder – you will be ‘The Glue’ 
• A strong and credible contributor to executive team decision-making, you have an empowering and collaborative leadership style 
• Highly analytical, with a structured problem-solving approach. 
• Being metrics driven, you will embed a culture of data and fact-based decision-making across the design team 
• Solid understanding of A/B testing including when to experiment, test setup, and interpretation of results 
• Razor-sharp focus and the ability to ‘cut through the noise’, prioritise, and make sound and rapid commercial decisions

Your experience:

• Demonstrated experience in consumer-facing Product Design and Product Creation - we'd love to see your portfolio!
• Higher education in a design-related degree or similar experience in a product design role is welcome
• You have experience managing a team of 2+ designers
• You’re an excellent hybrid Lead who can merge visual and interaction design skills to create unique, high-quality design solutions
• Proven experience in using and contributing to a Design System 
• Master of the tools of your trade, such as Figma, Miro, and prototyping software 
• Experience leading online and offline alignment sessions with stakeholders to validate design decisions 
• You are very experienced at creating interactive prototypes 
• You are accustomed to working collaboratively as part of cross-functional teams 
• You have a track record of delivering projects that users love
