The Product Design team is a small but mighty team of product design professionals supporting all areas of product across the company. The Product Designer will execute and champions the product design process, end to end. This entails all aspects of design from problem discovery and definition through solution development and delivery.


Essential Functions

  • Designing products and services that our customers and users love through strategic, user-centric decision making
  • Generating a shared understanding of our users’ contexts, constraints, and needs by utilizing tactics such as: user interviews and persona development; affinity, empathy, and journey mapping; competitor and trend analysis, etc.
  • Balancing business and customer concerns to deliver best-in-class outcomes for both
  • Formulating evidence-based problem statements that need solutions
  • Collaboratively ideating on solutions by mapping user flows, creating interactive prototypes, conducting user tests, producing mockups, and cutting assets for user stories
  • Articulating design decisions to teammates and stakeholders
  • Guiding developers in the effective use of iOS and Android paradigms and best practices

Preferences

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Sketch (or similar; e.g. Figma, Framer, Adobe Xd)
  • Experience with digital prototyping tools
  • An understanding of design’s place in Scrum/Agile
  • Experience with the Material Design system
  • Experience using transit and/or designing for transit applications is a plus

Requirements

  • Experience designing native applications on iOS and Android
  • A portfolio demonstrating comprehensive proficiency in the product design process
  • The ability to iterate on solutions and respond to change effectively
  • The ability to receive and act on constructive feedback
