The Pivotal Cloud Foundry team is looking for great Product Designers to join us in San Francisco. Join a team of like-minded designers that work at Pivotal. We pair together, critique work together and share ideas and process and methodology. We believe in working at a sustainable pace – you’ll typically work hard for 8 hours each day, but then you’re off work to relax, recharge, and refocus. We also stock beef jerky and vegan beef jerky if that's your thing.


You have a track record of helping conceive, define and execute user experiences across web and mobile products. Your portfolio will show that you've worked on a range of challenging projects across all steps of the design process: research, prototyping, and visual design.

What you will do

  • Maintain a user-centered approach in design perspective and practice
  • Collaborate to understand business requirements and develop or work with team members to develop solutions
  • Lead products from discovery and framework through iterative development and delivery
  • Rapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applications
  • Stay up-to-date on the current and best UI and visual design practices and trends
  • Evangelize new interface guidelines and design patterns
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile environment
  • Play ping pong, eat a fully catered breakfast every morning with your coworkers
  • Occasionally eat a taco or two or six

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Have strong opinions but hold them loosely
  • Possess excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills with a strong work ethic
  • Have a portfolio of design work that is clear and professional
  • Be committed to lifelong design learning
  • Rapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applications
  • Have experience with or a curiosity of agile and lean philosophies
  • Be proficient in Creative Suite and/or Sketch or some equivalent
  • An understanding of how HTML / CSS / JS works

Nice to Have

  • Identity and branding experience
  • Some fancy Illustration skills
  • Ability to code your own prototypes
  • Experience with Data Visualization
  • Proven track record of leading user research projects
  • An understanding that Tabasco is basically vinegar so shouldn't be considered hot sauce
