Product Designer (UX), Under Armour Connected Devices

Under Armour’s mission is to make all athletes better through passion, design and the relentless pursuit of innovation. And with the recent launch of the UA HealthBox™, connected fitness system, and the UA SpeedForm® Gemini 2 RE smart shoe, Under Armour is now changing the way athletes live through connected products and footwear.

We are seeking a product designer to join the connected devices team who will help us to improve and support our existing products, and help us design and launch our next generation of products.

Position Summary

This position is based in the Under Armour Connected Fitness headquarters in Austin, TX.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience being held accountable for the design and execution of design tracks within digital and/or embedded products, working alongside designers, engineers and product owners.
  • Proficiency in mobile design (iOS and Android).
  • Ability to breakdown complex interaction problems and understand engineering constraints.
  • Experience creating and articulating information architecture, interaction models, user flows, and interaction patterns.
  • Experience creating interaction specifications to be used by visual designers, engineers and QA.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability studies (both formal and guerrilla-style), and synthesizing insights.
  • Able to thoroughly understand the conceptual basis of a brand and how it should inform design, and experience adhering to style guides.
  • Proficient in Keynote, Sketch, Adobe CS and related tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, HCI or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Prototyping tools such as Principle, Pixate and InVision.
    • Knowledge of industrial design processes.
    • Knowledge of physical package design and out-of-box experiences.
