Spring is hiring a

Product Manager - Commerce

New York, United States

Imagine being able to access 1,000s of brands from one location anywhere you go. And then pair this idea with beautiful design, curated content and amazing customer service.

Well, this is Spring: we're taking the idea of a 24/7 marketplace and using this platform to enable brands and consumers to connect in new ways. Founded in 2013, Spring has quickly become known as the place to shop... and we've seen this in our rising number of users and brand partners. We currently have 90 employees and have big plans for growth. We're a mobile first company that cares about design, about delighting our customers (brands and consumers) and about building great products.

In the first half of this year, Spring has focused on adding engineers to our team. We’re now at the point where we need additional PMs to define the vision, objectives and outcomes of new features and product improvements. At Spring, the Product Management Team is the owner of our development and release cycle and, because this team controls our pace, they have a huge impact on our competitive edge. PMs ensure that our platform and products change as we grow and that we consistently meet the needs of our customers.

We currently have three PMs who are critical for making our engineering machine work well and we’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to join up and contribute to Commerce projects and features. Whereas a Consumer PM will think about how to get users to shop on Spring, a Commerce PM will work on features that make Spring… work. These features could include payment management systems, order processing platforms, catalog and search features, and internal tools. And this team isn’t just thinking about Spring’s existing applications, but also ways to connect customers and brands through platforms like Facebook and technologies like chat.

As a Commerce PM you will:

  • Partner with multiple teams in the organization. Any single feature could involve Brand Managers, Product Design, DevOps, and engineering teams in two time zones. You should be able to identify stakeholders, plan for how these various teams will work together, estimate project deadlines, and work to solve any blockers
  • Become an expert in systems related to ecommerce; including order management, payments, and content management
  • Identify blockers and work with teams to erase hurdles, provide clarity, and solve problems
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate. You are our go-to for anything and everything related to the roadmap
  • Ship high quality features that have a measurable impact on our business
  • Be responsible and accountable for the success of your features
  • Iterate, optimize, learn from mistakes, and continuously strive to make Spring’s products better

What you need to have:

  • 2+ years of professional experience, the majority of which has been in a Product Management or Engineering role
  • Background in ecommerce industry, preferred
  • You've PMed  application or product before
  • Engineering background is preferred
  • Ability to work with SQL is a must
  • Go-getter attitude, paired with endless curiosity. If you don't know how to do something, you'll figure it out
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
