Product Manager - Global Number Portability & Short Code

We are looking for a Product Manager to join the team. As a PM, you will be responsible for working on API design, planning and prioritizing sprints, defining the product roadmap, and spec’ing out new features and product enhancements.

About the job:

At Twilio, developers are our customer, and your mandate is to focus on their needs and bring the right product to market. To do this you will need to work with engineering, product marketing, sales, and operations to launch new products and support existing ones. You will own your products from both a technical and business perspective. The success of our products is in your hands.

Successful candidates will have shown the ability to ship quality product in a fast-paced environment. We expect you to be able to work and communicate across the organization at all levels. It is particularly important that you have experience working directly with engineers and engineering management.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap for our Global Number Portability and Short Code provisioning which are used by our biggest customers.
  • Work with internal and external customers to understand their needs, create prototypes, write user stories, and cut epics, tickets and functional specs for new tools and automations.
  • Work with different product teams across the company on their roadmaps to make sure that their APIs allow us to build tools and automation on top of their systems.
  • Be able to communicate both the business and technical rationale behind your product decisions.

  • Engage with our customers and service providers to understand how we can improve our products to increase functionality.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years experience as a Product Owner/Manager in Operations and/or as a Software Engineer in rapidly growing environment.
  • You have created specifications, user stories, and API designs based on business requirements.
  • You have experience writing code. We are looking for someone who can not only define product requirements, but also dive in and build prototypes on their own.
  • A proven ability to work on closely-knit teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum is highly valued.  You will be responsible in story and epic development and management.
  • You are hands on, passionate and collaborative.
  • You are a person who thrives in a fast moving environment with a heavy dose of ambiguity.
  • Telecom experience is not a necessity but is a tremendous bonus.
