Product Manager, Revenue Product Platforms

We're seeking a technically experienced and market focused product manager to lead both the vision and project management for our proprietary ad tech platform.  This platform powers all of Vox Media's custom ad formats, optimizations and unique reporting capabilities.  Ideal candidates will be folks who have platform product experience, enjoy getting their hands dirty to work on every phase of product development and have a proclivity for thinking about industry and market impact of various products.  Project management is not a dirty word to you, it’s a necessary step in getting things done.

 

Big Responsibilities:

  • Own the roadmap for our ad tech platform
  • Work with cross functional teams to ship features and enhancements
  • Identify market opportunities and help define product vision and strategy
  • Keep stakeholders involved by gathering input and communicating progress
  • Coordinate and communicate rollout of new features internally and externally
  • Partner with the revenue engineering lead with requirements around Vox Media platforms’ integration with Google/DFP and other relevant infrastructure

 Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to build great products on time and with a focus on revenue opportunities
  • Understand how to facilitate rapid iteration of products
  • Trust the self-managed product team to kick ass; tell them "what" needs to be done and not "how" to do it
  • Ability to develop new approaches to complex problems
  • Effectively multi-task and balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate goals and build consensus
  • Deep understanding of usability and experience in building websites for a broad audience
  • Strong analytical background with deep experience using tools such as Google Analytics or Omniture
  • Experience in online advertising  and online media publishing
  • Exceptionally strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication

 Ideally you also have:

  • Experience working on or managing small development teams with remote team members
  • More involved development or programming experience
  • Previous start-up or media experience
  • A clear understanding and experience in and around the online advertising industry working with agencies, ad technology partners, and measurement vendors
  • Knack for keeping up with design trends in blogs, web apps and online media

  • Vox Media achieves it’s revenue growth targets for 2016/2017.
  • Vox Product is focused on revenue levers with every release.
  • Vox Advertising is able to dominate the market by winning deals.
  • Vox Creative is empowered to package, pitch, execute, optimize, and report on all branded content via Chorus.
