Our Product Marketing team informs Afterpay’s product strategy, leads go-to-market strategy, and creates and executes campaigns to drive product growth. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Afterpay, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Design, Content, Acquisition, and Communications teams. Our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch, to growing product adoption post-launch.
We are hiring a senior product marketing professional with a track record of launching and driving adoption of innovative consumer products. This role will oversee product marketing for our most strategic consumer-facing products and work directly with senior leads on the Product team.
Develop a deep understanding of our customers through qualitative and quantitative research and behavioral analysis.
Keep a pulse on market trends and the competitive landscape. Report on competitor product evolution and positioning.
Partner with Product to develop product roadmaps that meet user needs and differentiate Afterpay from competitors
Develop product positioning and messaging informed by research, insights and product understanding.
Develop go-to-market strategies and drive launches for new products and features. Collaborate with product managers, marketing channels, sales, design, PR and engineering to execute launch plans flawlessly.
Design and execute campaigns to drive awareness, trial & engagement
Partner with Product & Design to improve key user flows and in-product messaging (e.g. how it works landing page, sign-up flow)
Create content that educates users in the product experience (e.g. in-store explainer video)
Identify opportunities to improve existing products and features.
Evaluate products using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective customers.
Translate technical benefits into benefits for the end user.
Craft and test messages across marketing channels (landing pages, ad campaigns).
7+ years of relevant work experience that can span marketing, product marketing, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting
At least 3-4 years of product marketing or go-to-market experience working in online companies is preferred
Experience working on product marketing throughout a product’s lifecycle
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams
Strong verbal and written communicator, with the ability to synthesize a complex situation into a concise plan
Data driven and strong analytical skills
A team player who is accountable, proactive, and solution-oriented
Good at data analysis and willing to solve problems
