Position Overview:

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to define, launch, grow, and evolve the various products that our consumers use to access Rent the Runway’s “closet in the cloud”. In this highly collaborative and cross-functional role, the Product Marketing Manager will play an extremely critical part in defining the future vision and driving tremendous growth for Rent the Runway. The right candidate will have the capacity to develop a deep and nuanced understanding of consumer needs, while keeping their finger on the pulse of market trends. Responsibilities:

  • Own the full spectrum of marketing for specific Rent the Runway products, which may include subscription (Unlimited, Style Pass), last minute rental (RTR Now), special event rental (4 or 8 day), iPhone app, and/or new customer activation
  • Consumer Insights, Positioning, and Packaging
    • Develop a deep understanding of prospective and existing customers (including their demographics, psychographics, barriers, motivators, purchasing behavior)
    • Be a vocal consumer advocate and astute observer of competitive marketplace trends, educating key stakeholders and the organization at large of key opportunity areas for growth and improvement
    • Develop branding, product positioning, and feature prioritization that clearly defines and differentiates the product’s value proposition to the consumer, working in close collaboration with Product & UX/Design
  • Go-To-Market and Launches
    • Develop go-to-market strategy, including product messaging, communications, and acquisition strategy around new products and features
    • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver marketing moments and a cohesive consumer narrative
    • Drive operational excellence cross-functionally to deliver timely and successful launches
    • Establish and communicate KPIs and trackable measures of success to the larger team
  • Adoption, Funnel Development, and Product Evolution
    • Lead and collaborate with Marketing, Creative, and PR to proactively develop effective marketing communications and campaigns to drive adoption post-launch
    • Analyze consumer lifecycle throughout the adoption funnel, identifying opportunities and developing plans to improve acquisition, engagement, and/or retention
    • Maintain day-to-day relationships with cross-functional partners (Product, UX/Design, Marketing Leads, Customer Experience, Analytics, Tech) ensuring feedback and input is prioritized and communicated across all teams
    • Partner with Product to measure and optimize the consumer journey as it relates to product feature adoption and usage

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree at minimum (MBA preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in product marketing, brand management, or product management, with a history of leading consumer marketing throughout a product’s lifecycle preferred
  • Ability to develop, execute, and communicate a long-term strategic vision, while also balancing immediate priorities and opportunities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong results-oriented mindset
  • Capable of analyzing user and performance data to establish clear measures of success and build compelling stories with data
  • Understand what it takes to build powerful brands in today’s world. You have experience building and cultivating strong brands
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create effective messaging and tell compelling stories about our products and business to any audience – whether it’s our consumers, internal team, or industry at large
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with strong team management skills
  • Possess an entrepreneurial and founder mindset, ready to take on tasks outside of role with strong agility to change and to be flexible/resilient
  • Self-starter with proven ability to project manage and work independently on projects from start to finish
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
