As the Product Realization Lead on the Hardware Operations team, you will be directly involved in transforming Hudl’s product realization activities. You will focus on maturing our manufacturing capabilities to create breakthrough smart camera solutions. In this position you will also play a key role in developing, influencing and aligning our longer-term manufacturing, sourcing, and technology strategies across the operations and product development organizations. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong record of working partners in a CM, JDM or OEM model, within the hardware industry(preferably consumer electronics).  You will also have experience using tools such as DFM, DFMEA and PFMEA, working with technical drawings and PLM tools.   Ideally you will have experience with lean manufacturing principles, stage gate processes and project management.

Hudl has a flexible location policy. We'll leave it up to you to decide where you want to work: our Lincoln HQ, our Omaha office, our Boston, MA office or from home within the U.S.  This role is not open to employees in the the following states: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Hawaii, Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont. 

You Are

  • Experienced.. You have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, with at least  4-6 years of experience.
  • A proven leader.  You have a strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills, and experience with root cause analysis and technical problem solving tools. You have the ability to lead a cross-functional team within the HW BU, including sourcing, PM, engineering, quality, and factory program management, through the process of realizing physical products from design into mass production. This is a role of influential leadership, not direct reporting.
  • Collaborative and Cross-functional. Work with the operations team and other groups to ensure there is proper communication of the state of the program, program issues, risks, and mitigation plans.  Serve as the primary point of contact for the manufacturing process, quality and production of Hudl products. Tightly integrate the work between operations, product development and CMs, keeping the teams aligned at all times.
  • Analytical.  You establish and report on production related KPIs such as yield, throughput. You manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and all the operations lessons learned with the CM and HW organization for all of the NPI products.  You provide leadership and direction for Hudl Focus RMA process
  • An effective communicator.  You work with the operations team and other groups to ensure there is proper communication of the state of the program, program issues, risks, and mitigation plans.

You Will

  • Embrace accountability. Embrace the role as the operations program leader that everyone looks to as the point of accountability for the overall delivery of the product with the quality, cost, and scale expected. You ensure Hudl’s deliverables to our CM partners are met on time. Troubleshoot production issues. 
  • Program management.  Tightly integrate the work between operations, product development and CMs, keeping the teams aligned at all times. Develop and manage the manufacturing relationships schedule for all the NPI product and continuous engineering program execution at the factory level.  You work closely with the TPM to plan and drive all program builds at the sub and final assembly level, develop and manage the operations budget, and communicate status updates to the rest of the organization.
  • Foster transformation. You’ll strive for a better collaboration between engineering, product management, Operations and our manufacturing partners.
  • Advocate for quality. You’ll establish process controls to ensure we hit our quality and production KPIs.
