The programmatic ops executive role is an amazing opportunity to join a FTSE 250 company and get exposure to a lot of different aspects of the business. You'll work with commercial, editorial, sales and marketingteams and get a great matter of responsibility working on your own projects and come up with new initiatives. Furthermore you get to work with various external partners in the media industry.

About the Team

The Programmatic Operations team is part of the Commercial Advertising Department. The team consists of 3 people in the UK and 1 in the U.S. The team manages, forecasts and reports on global programmatic revenue across Future, working closely with the development team, sales team and Ad Operations team to understand the business needs and to deliver a substantial revenue stream for the company.

Job Purpose

Working in the Commercial operations team you’ll have a global responsibility and will report into the Head of Programmatic. In your role you’ll be responsible for running day to day activities around our advertising and product portfolio. You’ll work closely with various departments of the business including Editorial, Sales, Ad operations and project management. Finally you are encouraged to come up with new initiatives and ways to help Future forward.

Key responsibilities

  • Initiate optimisations around existing ad formats and come up with new initiatives
  • Keeping abreast of all relationships with third party vendors - both as a buyer and customer
  • Set-up and manage our video offering. Come up with new initiatives to improve our monetisation
  • Be a point of call for all areas of the commercial team; from sales to marketing to ad operations
  • Help manage the Billing and Reconciliation process at the end of every month, alongside general reporting from across the business


What do I need to succeed?

  • Basic understanding of the programmatic landscape
  • Understanding of GAM (Google Ad Manager)
  • Knowledge of ssp’s, dsp’s and dmp’s would be an asset
  • Good MS (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and G-suite skills (docs, sheets, slides)
  • Be comfortable with picking up new and unfamiliar systems quickly and effectively
  • Ability to troubleshoot ad issues (from buyer issues to trafficking to brand safety)

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong communication and analytical skills – including presenting findings & recommendations for next steps.
  • Team player who is used to working with a wide range of departments and skill sets.
  • Proactive self-starter who can make decisions and activate them quickly.
  • Approachability - people need to be comfortable asking you for advice/questions!
