What You Will Do 

Within Ocado Group sits Platform Implementation, whose mission is ‘to orchestrate the implementation of Ocado’s platforms globally’. This department focuses on the full program management life cycle of the implementation of our highly automated, multi-million-pound Customer Fulfilment Centers (CFCs) - from pre-deal, through to the design, construction, installation, testing, and ‘go-live’ phases (with all the process and portfolio management in between). This department is instrumental in ensuring we deliver these CFCs on time, to budget, and to the specific requirements of each client.

As a result of Ocado’s growth, a Construction and Installation team has been established to support our business and develop the capabilities needed to build and install the Ocado Smart Platform in the UK and for clients across the world. As Ocado transforms there is a growing need to support multiple complex projects across new styles and sizes of CFCs. 

We are looking for a Principle Manager Project Delivery Excellence, North America who will be responsible for managing all central functions in North America which support the on-site teams with the process, documentation, budgets, schedules, standards, escalation management, Purchasing, Pre-Construction, and Project Safety

Day-to-day responsibilities could include:

• Oversee teams of Managers that are delivering: Pre-construction services, Purchasing, PMO, special projects buildouts and Health/Safety Management for North America
• Coordinate with central function to support the Centre of Excellence for the Construction and Installation department 
• Build a strategy for the Install Excellence team to rapidly improve support to the on-site teams, in North America
• Ensure project teams can access up to date:  processes, documentation, standards,  information, and training
• Engage senior leadership across Platform Implementation to endorse planned improvements
• Create the tools and processes to deliver a team ethos of Right First Time
• Lead a culture of defining, resolving, and continuously improving process excellence and innovation
• Ensure projects have an accurate: Budget, Schedule, and Storybook
• Track performance of projects and use KPIs to suggest improvements
• Be the interface for the introduction of new technology to the Install team
• Oversee the supplier identification and onboarding process with Pre-Construction/Purchasing teams
• Oversee management Supplier contract set-up
• Line management of a cross-functional team who are based throughout North America
• Alignment and close working with Platform Implementation PMO team
• Ensure Health and Safety process management and action tracking are occurring on-site
• Oversee the development and implementation of product specialist program in NA
• Oversee the construction and installation of special projects located throughout NA.  Projects could include work inside operational facilities.  

Who You Are

To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

Minimum:

• 10+ years Project Management Experience especially in complex integration projects
• Extensive Leadership & Management experience
• Experience in Operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Program, budget, requirement and risk management background
• Proven experience in making key decisions based on risk, weighing up program, budget & scope impact
• IT literate - Google Software Suite, MS Office applications (Inc MS Project, PowerPoint & Excel proficiency). 

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

• Experience of managing in a matrixed organization
• Project management formal qualification (PMP or equivalent)
• Qualified to degree level in a technical/ engineering discipline
• Previous operational management experience

Location:

This position will be Remote with 25% travel
