A good PM loves process; a great PM knows it’s a means to an important end. You’re detail-oriented, results-centric, and undaunted by technology (or technologists). You’ve internalized the iron triangle of time-scope-budget into your DNA. You’re firmly convinced hyperbole should be left to job postings and never have anything to do with setting stakeholder expectations.
On the personal side, you’re relaxed, comfortable with execs and interns alike, get it that writing good code can be genuinely hard to do, and always — most especially when it’s bad news — tell the truth.
Soliant is a special place — we’re biased, of course — and is built around a strong sense of community. Our focus is on service and we tackle projects that really matter to our clients. We’re looking for a talented PM to play a critical role in leading the teams that deliver great service and good code… on a rational schedule and for a reasonable, well-managed budget.
Given your natural leadership skills and positive demeanor, you’ll inspire trust and confidence in our process from kickoff to discovery, development to deployment.
Using your excellent written and verbal communication skills, you’ll work face-to-face with sophisticated clients, keeping them informed about schedule, budget, scope changes, issues, and risks, all while measuring and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. Your unmitigated motto in life is to never, ever surprise a client.
Building off best practices in project management and your experience with the software development life-cycle, you’ll work with the Technical Lead and other project team members to translate effort estimates and resource allocations into project schedules, monitoring and adjusting the schedule as the project evolves.
With a keen eye for detail, you’ll stay on top of project budgets, anticipating any issues and heading them off at the pass before they arise.
Meeting regularly with your project teams to review progress (using tools such as Jira and Confluence), you’ll address any blockers, bring focus to project objectives, and solidify team cohesion.
Fostering long-term, Trusted Advisor relationships with your clients, you’ll look for ways to offer more value year-over-year.
As a collaborative team-player, you’ll work alongside other Soliant Project Managers, improving the common pool of knowledge, discovering and sharing best practices.
Building off of your natural curiosity, you’ll gain valuable exposure to a suite of rich technical tools and mature business processes, working shoulder-to-shoulder with expert cloud (Salesforce.com, AWS), web and database (FileMaker) developers and Technical Leads, as well as seasoned Project Managers and Managing Directors.
