What would I be doing?
The project manager will be accountable on a project or programme basis to achieve delivery of AHA products development in a consistent manner. To do so they will work with the teams in AHA, across OT, Platform Implementation, Client Services, and external parties to ensure that all outcomes are met on time and within budget.
The roles and responsibilities of this role include:
- Oversee numerous complex projects that span multiple product streams and teams, including software and hardware engineering.
- Develop individual project schedules to track progress of development against pre- agreed targets
- Create and apply for project budgets (both internal and external). Track these budgets throughout the life of the projects, accurately forecasting when variations/ updates may be required.
- Monitor and enforce critical project delivery milestones.
- Ensure consistent stakeholder management and engagement throughout the project, using gate reviews to communicate against delivery milestones.
- Work closely with teams across Ocado Technology, within wider Ocado Group, and external partners and contractors.
- Proactively track, monitor and mitigate against risks and issues that arise, communicating openly with senior managers to address them promptly.
- Maintain regular communication and reporting on the status of each project or programme to key stakeholders. Using an array of different communications to suit the different stakeholders, based on the RACI.
- Manage a full and successful handover to the Product Managers and Product Specialists. To ensure that the product can then be successfully manufactured and delivered to multiple sites by Platform Implementation.
- Manage successful delivery onto first site(s) in collaboration with teams in Platform Implementation
What we are looking for
- Experience managing and delivering complex projects or programmes.
- Direct involvement with developments containing both hardware and software aspects, working across a number of different teams.
- Experience leading projects using suitable project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc) .
- Comfortable working with a broad spectrum of technical, non-technical, internal and external stakeholders.
- Recognised project management qualification or accreditation (PRINCE2, APM PMQ, AgilePM, etc)
- Assertive but diplomatic and have a bias for action, collaboration and optimism.
- A self starter with the ability to drive projects forward.
- Great facilitator; comfortable sorting out ambiguity and bringing structure and clarity of purpose to a conversation.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
This would make you stand out from the crowd.
- Experience delivering projects across multiple territories with differing standards or regulatory compliance.
- Experience in projects containing a safety or compliance component.
- Experience in the design and development of industrial automation or working with industrial control systems.
- Good understanding of Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) especially the proprietary Materials Handling Equipment (MHE).
