DraftKings is looking for a highly motivated, strategic Communications Manager to manage media relations efforts in North America. This role will report into the Director of Communications and works across the company with Marketing, Product Development, Legal, Human Resources and Business Development teams to develop strategic corporate, brand, and product strategies. The Public Relations manager will also advise on communication strategies pertaining to government affairs and public affairs. This role can be based in Boston or New York City.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Manage day-to day media relations, messaging development and strategic planning for DraftKings North America.

Form close-knit working relationship with business unit heads to ensure the development of integrated Marketing & PR plans.

Work with and act as point-of-contact with Boston and NYC to determine needs and to assist in quality control and internal communications efforts.

Serve as the point of contact with PR agencies both national and regional manage timelines and deliverables accordingly.

Develop ongoing communications plans to support key brand efforts and promotions, governmental affairs and legal strategy.

Manage and recommend speaking engagements for C-Level executives.

Develop the social purpose and philanthropic efforts for the DK brand in North America with potential global expansion.

Provide counsel on social media channels and work closely with digital and content teams to ensure all messaging is consistent and on brand.

Strong media contacts and relationships in sports, politics and consumer.

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and ability to work independently
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • An exceptional all-rounder with knowledge and ability across sports, technology and politics
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal & written
  • Management of agency resource – briefing, plan-development & successful execution
  • A passion for Sports and Fantasy Sports highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to delegate as well as do
  • Relevant media contacts and experience managing relationships with media on a national level
  • Outstanding organizational skills; prioritization skills and time management skills
  • 5-8 years of experience at PR Agency or in-house
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Experience with government affairs and public affairs highly desirable
