Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services and tools, with hands-on experience in deploying applications on AWS.
• Expertise in DevOps practices, ensuring the development of maintainable and production-ready web applications. The specific technologies we'll be using:
• Gitlab pipelines for continuous integration and deployment.
• Docker for containerization and application deployment.
• Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• AWS services, including EC2, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, SQS, S3, and DynamoDB. While not essential, our applications do have a UI component, so experience with the following technologies would be beneficial:
• Proficiency in React for building user interfaces.
• Knowledge of Typescript for developing robust and scalable UI components. Experience Level: We are seeking candidates with an intermediate level of experience in cloud engineering, specifically in deploying AI applications and working with AWS services.
Tasks The contractors are expected to:
1. Work to move Abcam’s AI Tech Stack from v0.1 to v0.3, as defined by the roadmap.
2. Productionise 5 existing AI Applications.
3. Collaborate with and work under the guidance of the AI Engineers in the Data Science & AI team.
4. Attend any planning, design and review meetings necessary.
5. Work in the Abcam office (Cambridge, UK) two days in week 1, one day in week 2, then one day fortnightly.
6. Document their work in Confluence and track in Jira.
