ABOUT THE ROLE

Teikametrics is looking for a Python Software Engineer to join the Artificial Intelligence team to build platforms and services that support the rapid construction and deployment of prediction and control services in the domain of e-commerce. Candidates should have extensive experience with Python, developing event-driven systems, and building data pipelines in a large-scale application environment.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Application development in Python leveraging FastAPI, Flask, Apache Spark, Databricks, Kubernetes, Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, AWS, and various other libraries and services
  • Building large-scale ETL pipelines that ingest data from S3, relational databases, Redis, and internal APIs
  • Developing internal APIs and event-driven systems
  • Collaborating with teammates and other teams at Teikametrics to provide feedback and ideas about the best ways to deliver performant and maintainable systems
  • While you won’t directly be training or tuning machine learning models, you’ll be working directly with data scientists to utilize proprietary models in our production applications

WHO YOU ARE

  • 4+ years of experience working in software engineering
  • 2+ years working with Python in an application environment
  • Experience with libraries or services such as Docker, Flask, Spark, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with API development, data processing, high-volume event-driven systems, concurrent job processing, monitoring, alerting, cloud deployment, and containerization
  • Interest in deploying machine-learning models as scalable services
  • Interest in "tool-making" - building features for developers that empower them and make them faster
  • Someone who enjoys working collaboratively with others through design reviews, Code Reviews, pair programming, proposing new features and enhancements, ideation meetings, and standard setting to ensure operational excellence
