QA Tester (Contract)

PlayStation Now is a revolutionary service that lets you stream hundreds of PS3 and PS4 games to your PS4 and Windows PC. As a QA Tester, you possess a deep understanding of the product, allowing you to create and execute tests used to validate all new releases as well as new development.  Your expertise will enable the development and business teams to have confidence that the product meets the quality level we strive for here at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

We are seeking an experienced QA Tester with a solid background in testing games and/or software.

Responsibilities

  • Functionality, Compatibility, Usability, and Regression testing
  • Testing games/software compliance
  • Execute, create and review manual test cases
  • Entering bugs into database(s)
  • Network testing
  • Independently or in a team, setup hardware and install software for testing
  • Trace, analyze and report issues to development to be resolved

Requirements

  • Gaming experience, and familiarity with gaming genres
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience with Games and/or Software
  • Experience in using common defect tracking tool
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in developing test plans and defining/creating test cases
  • Detail-oriented individual with excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work well independently or on a team

Additional Attributes

  • Knowledge of related applications and cloud-based technologies
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude and the ability to grasp concepts quickly
  • Experience testing on multiple platforms and devices
  • First Party TRC and/or TCR experience
  • Knowledge of Programming/Scripting Language(s)
  • Strong skills in using Windows, Mac OS X and/or Linux
  • Above average skills with MS Office
  • Understanding of common software deployment/release processes
  • Ability and willingness to independently learn new technologies
