Quality Assurance Lead

The QA Lead is responsible for performing automated quality assurance testing on websites developed by Scorpion for clients. This position is responsible for reviewing project and development requirements to ensure requirements are clearly met across all web browsers and devices including mobile and tablet. You’ll be responsible for the quality and accuracy of new websites being launched for multiple clients. This will include pre and post-launch QA of elements such as functionality, design, and adherence to ADA guidelines.

Our clients require a website design and content that benefits both the user and the business—our goal is to build user-friendly, intuitive, SEO-friendly, and attractive websites that generate traffic, leads, and sales for clients. You will be evaluated on your ability to minimize mistakes and ensure that clients get error-free websites. Daily tasks will include finding defects and bugs on websites, possible usability issues, missed technical requirements, and ADA issues.

Responsibilities

  • Create test plans, secure test data, conduct testing, and document statuses for more complex projects of diverse nature
  • Monitor and identify the root cause of problems with content, layout, usability, accessibility, functionality, guidelines, and more across multiple browsers and devices
  • Review project and development requirements to ensure requirements are clearly met when testing
  • Analyze requirements and test across all web browsers and digital devices
  • Submit all bugs into ticket system/spreadsheet / or project management system
  • Ensure tasks are resolved in a timely manner and accurately
  • Report progress on problem resolution to management
  • Provide regular reports on testing and bugs found on the site
  • Ability to turn over multiple projects and tasks within a day
  • Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models/systems for QA documentation
  • Devise use cases and test accordingly
  • Create user guides and technical documentation
  • Clearly document issues with easily reproducible steps
  • Oversee the use of best practices in QA processes and advocate for quality in general production processes

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in QA automation for web-based technology projects
  • Strongly familiar with mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
  • Experience with cross-browser and mobile device compatibility testing
  • Understanding of software testing principles
  • Knowledge and familiarity with QA methodologies, processes, and tools
  • Experience writing detail-oriented test plans and test cases
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Ability to self-manage and juggle multiple priorities
  • Extremely detail-oriented, and organized
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Outlook
  • Experience with project management software such as Gantt charts
  • Comfortable communicating with clients
