Overview

The Quality Assurance RN is responsible for  the oversight of process improvement in within the clinical processes to ensure compliance with all Conditions of Participation for our Certified Hospice Agency. This role will be responsible for assessment of current practices, recommendations to leadership on quality projects, education to partners, and evaluation of process implementation

The Quality Assurance RN utilizes quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI) processes to assess and address issues as reported by patients, clinicians/partners or found in the clinical records, reports, and clinician documentation to manage the agency in the areas of: complaints/customer concerns, infection control, incident reports, medication errors and clinical record review. This information is then reported back to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) for formalized Quality Assurance reporting and Performance Improvement activities. Assists in preparation of QAPI reports for presentations to DCS, Executive Director, and Board of Directors.

 Responsibilities

  • Reviews all admissions for both clinical and billing accuracy and compliance
  • Communicates daily with DCS regarding clinical staff member’s documentation and patient care trends seen
  • Performs and/or oversees timely and accurate audits of medical records for both clinical and billing compliance.
  • Creates education and action items, along with DCS to be addressed by any trends found in documentation audits
  • Facilitates education to clinical partners on ways to improve practice and documentation in line with COPs.
  • Consults with Leadership Team on pathways to improve compliance.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

  • RN in the state of Ohio, without restrictions. 
  • Must be a licensed driver with automobile in good working condition and have automobile insurance in accordance with Ohio Laws
  • Must have active CPR or will attain within 3 months of Hire

Experience:

  • Proficient in knowledge of hospice COPs required
  • Minimum of 3 years hospice experience required.
  • Experience with process improvement leadership and facilitation of group/individual education
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with electronic health record
