We’re ABODO.com, a venture-backed, Madison, WI startup on a mission to make apartment hunting effortless.

As recent college grads - with more than 10 apartment hunts between us - we had far too much personal experience with the typical apartment search.

The endless shuffling through craigslist ads. The apartment listing sites that look like they were built in the 90’s. And the all-too-common resignation to walking and driving through neighborhoods looking for ‘For Rent’ signs. 

We thought there had to be a better way. 

So we built it. 

Job Description

We’re looking for an ambitious, experienced recruiter to utilize their head-hunting skills to find qualified candidates to become a part of our rapidly-growing startup.  You'll take charge of the recruiting process and fill a wide variety of positions amongst various departments.  Within this role, you'll be responsible for, but not limited to, the following expectations:

  • Source passive candidates through networking, cold calling, and complex internet searches and research.
  • Source active candidates from on-line databases, contact lists, internal databases, and employee referrals.
  • Create and post openings on the company website, social media and other job platforms to generate interest from candidates
  • Review applications and resumes for matching skill sets
  • Conduct phone, video-conferencing, and face to face interviews to screen candidates for skill sets, attitude, enthusiasm and dedication
  • Present candidates to hiring managers and arrange all interviews, travel if necessary, and share agendas with the candidate and all parties involved
  • Assist in due diligence for potential new hires, including background and reference checks.     

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a recruiter role
  • Proven track record for successfully identifying and hiring exceptional candidates 
  • Obsessive about a great candidate experience
  • Detail oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills
  • Personable with strong oral and written communication
  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to change
  • 4 year degree preferred
