Based in Singapore, TripAdvisor is looking for a smart and experienced e-commerce professional to lead business development for the Flights team in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.  The candidate will be responsible for growing partner related revenue and managing a diverse set of airline and online travel agency relationships across APAC. The Regional Director will develop and prioritize key partner related initiatives and existing Flights placements.  As the senior business contact for Flights in the region, this person will liaise across various TripAdvisor functional areas in order to build alignment and deliver on the strategic goals of the Flights business. The successful candidate must be driven, collaborative, creative, and resourceful and enjoy working in a highly entrepreneurial environment.  

Responsible for:

  • Managing the partner initiatives for the TripAdvisor flight related meta search and merchandising products
  • Growing our review collection and syndication partnerships
  • Identifies new business opportunities
  • Targets the partnerships to deliver on the key initiatives for the Flights business in APAC
  • Responsible for setting the distribution strategy and partner requirements in each local market and successfully negotiating through the complex airline distribution agreements with our major airline and OTA partners.

The position requires a comprehensive mix of business and communication skills including the ability to build and manage multifunctional relationships and complex projects in a dynamic and fast changing environment.

The Regional Director will:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external decision makers necessary to grow our Flights business in both new and existing markets
  • Identify incremental revenue streams
  • Optimize the portfolio of air partners in each market
  • Drive partner related projects and priorities for the Flights business by working closely with the Business Development, Product, Engineering and Marketing teams
  • Monitor overall partner performance and provides direction on regional initiatives
  • Grow revenue via Flights merchandising placements and optimizes the partner revenue opportunities by placement and market
  • Understand the key revenue drivers and the related partner dependencies for the various business models to optimize overall partner performance in the APAC region

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops new partnerships and expands product offerings based on each unique market needs;
• Manages multiple airline and OTA relationships and partner initiatives in APAC
• Responsible for strategy, planning, and analysis to optimize overall revenue performance;
• Creates and executes on a partner revenue strategy that is localized by region and country;
• Identifies opportunity areas to grow Flights revenue;
• Develops key partner related projects for the Flights business in APAC;
• Responsible for partner placement performance and optimization for the region;
• Responsible for online partner merchandising and marketing initiatives;
• Coordinates with others on the product, functionality and needs of Air partners;
• Liaises with other business units within TripAdvisor

Hiring Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
• 5+ years e-commerce, partner management, or online travel experience
• Advanced knowledge of airline industry and understanding of the online travel space
• Strong negotiating skills and business development know-how
• Exceptional online marketer with traffic acquisition experience
• Solid analytical background with an understanding of reporting and tracking tools
• Thorough awareness of TripAdvisor's markets and the general competitive landscape
• Knowledge of online merchandising and advertising
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship skills
• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to work independently in delivering on the goals of a global team
• Creative, open to new ideas, strategic thinker
• Strong organizational and multi-taking skills
• Enjoy problem solving and be unafraid of technical solutions
• Teamwork skills essential, sense of humor required
