About the position

Our customer obsession is our most important competitive advantage. We are focused on providing an extraordinary customer experience, and that starts with a release process that works back from the customer’s perspective. We are looking for a process and detailed oriented Release Manager who enjoys working across multiple teams to determine what is best for our customers and can rally a matrixed team to execute it. Reporting directly to the Head of North America Technical Support, you will be a pivotal member of the Customer Success team, embedded with our customer advocates who liaise between our customers and our internal Showpad teams. As the Release Manager, you will be a highly visible member of the team and responsible for establishing and coordinating the activities necessary to ensure successful releases. You will need to thrive and take ownership with a proactive work ethic.

Key responsibilities as a Release Manager at Showpad

  • Own the release process end to end (from inception to GA to measuring success)
  • Document, communicate and coordinate the release process with product management, engineering, customer success, and sales teams
  • Communicate status and other relevant details to internal and external audiences
  • Project manage the release process to ensure that all parties complete their deliverables and update their progress for others to see
  • Determine the release criteria and ensure completion at every release
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and customer success teams to determine release success metrics, provide reports on progress and problems
  • Measure and monitor the release progress by defining and reporting on multiple metrics, including those specific to the product being released
  • Understand the needs during the release process for our customers and internal stakeholders and ensure those needs are addressed

Skills we are looking for

  • 2+ years experience working in SaaS, ideally with a B2B focus
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in release management and/or cross-functional program/project management
  • Passion for great consumer experiences, business strategy, and data-driven business insights
  • Ability to think and act with a focus on the holistic needs of the company and influence others to do the same
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels, from executives to individual contributors and cross-functionally both verbally and written
  • Strong people skills, collaboration, issue resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Tendency to be courageous and ask questions, promote new ideas, and use data to challenge/validate existing assumptions
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Kanban development methodology is a plus
