Your Impact:

As a key member of our Validation & Reliability team, your work will be essential in helping us develop and maintain products and systems that will exceed our internal and external customer expectations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Research & Development to define and execute Reliability test strategies for all Axon products as well as ensuring our products have margin to meet the full range of the operating conditions, customer usage and design intent.
You will have a strong focus on new product development but will have responsibility to drive reliability improvements in product, process and system throughout the entire product lifecycle. We will look to you to apply reliability test best practices and statistical tools to proactively prevent problems and to help resolve field issues.
Your technical expertise will be key in evaluating our products, identifying issues as you work with multi-functional teams to ensure all issues are resolved. You will be working with R&D Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Supply Chain, which will offer you the opportunity to use your effective communication skills across different levels in our dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Develop and drive detailed reliability test strategies on new and existing products.
  • Document and report all test status and results to all levels of the Axon Engineering teams
  • When applicable, work with third party suppliers to ensure systems/subsystems meet all reliability & durability expectations
  • Leverage Reliability Engineering background to develop and execute Reliability Test Plans for HALT, ALT & ORT.
  • Execute all Reliability Tests – including Mechanical, Environmental, and Electrical
  • Support Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis on issues
  • Develop customer usage models of Axon products to use in Reliability modeling.
  • Apply reliability statistics to identify reliability trends in the field and provide a clear description of emerging risks.
  • Provide reliability design insights and process guidelines based on field findings and maintain knowledge base of reliability lessons learned to enable continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement is a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline or equivalent with one or two years of industry experience in a reliability engineering role. In addition, a strong technical background and interest in reliability.
  • Working knowledge of applied statistics in field of Reliability.
  • Domain knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Practical hands-on experience in the failure analysis process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Design for Reliability, qualitative and quantitative test design; test to failure methods and analysis & demonstrated reliability tests implementation.
  • Experience with ReliaSoft / ALTA reliability analysis software, or other similar packages.
  • ASQ Certification in Six Sigma, Quality or Reliability Engineering is preferred
  • Familiar with Bug and Test Tracking Suites – Jira or Zephyr
  • Experience with manufacturing and assembly process
  • Experience presenting test plan, requirements, and analysis to all stakeholders
  • Ability to influence multi-functional organizations

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 80,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 160,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 100,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 200,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
