Encodia is a rapidly growing platform company that is developing a new generation of protein analysis tools based on single-molecule protein sequencing. Our goal is to make protein sequencing easy and ubiquitous by using a novel reverse-translation technology that turns peptide sequences into DNA. The DNA can be read by a DNA sequencer, providing a path to breakthrough proteomics research at a scale that is not practical or cost-effective using current technologies.

Job Summary

We are seeking to recruit a BS/MS level Research Associate with 3-5 years of experience in scale-up and QC of bead materials supporting Next-Gen protein and immunoassay development. The successful candidate will possess excellent lab skills and with hands-on experience in bio-analytical tools for assessing assay beads and surfaces. This position will involve research and collaboration with teams that interface between material science, molecular biology, immunoassays, and bio-conjugation on solid supports. Job Responsibilities

• Supporting bead development and manufacturing by developing processes to generate bioconjugated materials and beads/microspheres for assays.
• Analyzing experimental data and keeping detailed QC records of bioassay materials including solid supports, nucleic acids, and proteins.
• Supporting development of novel Next-Gen protein and immunoassays.
• Troubleshooting experiments proactively in dialogue with the supervisor.
• Performing experiments according to established SOPs with minimal supervision.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues through oral and written reports.
• Multi-tasking effectively and completing assigned projects on time.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years' of experience in bioconjugation on beads and QC, assay development, or immunoassays.
• Experience with analytical characterization of materials and bead/surface chemistry highly desired.
• Experience working with DNA, proteins, and antibodies a plus.
• Hands-on experience in qPCR/PCR, gel electrophoresis, cellometer cell counter, UV/Vis, and FTIR a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, and organized individual.
