Position Summary:

Laronde is seeking an outstanding Research Associate /Senior Research Associate, Molecular Cell Biology to join a multidisciplinary team of experimental and synthetic biologists responsible for study, design, and screening of novel endless RNA (eRNA) therapeutics. The ideal candidate will lead experimental efforts to generate and investigate arrayed eRNAs in vitro and in living cells in a high-throughput manner through applying the world-class molecular tools coupled with in cyto biology technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform molecular cloning, followed by purification, and in vitro delivery of eRNA samples using plate-based molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid ligation, PCR, and reverse transcription.
  • Perform gene expression analyses by qRT-PCR, ELISA, and related methods.
  • Perform cell viability assays using a variety of transformed cell lines and primary cells.  
  • Work with automated liquid handlers for high throughput eRNA library preparation.
  • Carefully document experiments in an electronic lab notebook and communicate results to collaborators.
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team of experimental and molecular cell biologists to design experiments, analyze data, interpret, and present your results at department meetings.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or Biology with 3+ (B.S.) or 1+ years (M.S.) of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform molecular cloning, in vitro transfection, and RNA purification.
  • Proficiency in culturing, freezing, and expansion of variety of mammalian cell lines.
  • Strong molecular biology skills, including RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, and ELISA.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with highly collaborative teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and technical environment.
  • Experience with NGS data analysis is a strong plus.
