The Discovery team builds general-purpose agents that create and discover new knowledge through interaction. To achieve this, we combine the best techniques from deep learning, reinforcement learning, meta learning, planning and large models.
We recently applied these techniques to domains like Mathematics (dpmd.ai/imo-silver) where we achieved a silver medal standard in the international math olympiad, and in chess, where we developed creative problem solving methods to solve the challenging Penrose position (https://arxiv.org/abs/2308.09175).
We have already made a number of high profile breakthroughs towards building artificial general intelligence, and we have all the ingredients in place to make further significant progress over the coming years!
Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions.
