Zearn is seeking a talented Research Operations Coordinator to join our growing Research team. Working closely with the Research Operations Manager, you will play a lead role in coordinating research- and data-centered work across a variety of projects, stakeholder groups, and data platforms. Your work will directly contribute to mixed-methods research that measures Zearn's impact on the field of K-12 education, facilitates continuous improvement of our product, and tests and learns from our school-, district- and state-level implementations. As Zearn’s first Research Operations Coordinator, you have an opportunity to help scale the Research team’s capacity, while defining what excellence looks like in the Operations Coordinator role.

What This Role Will Do:

  • Project Operations
    • Support the tactical execution of multiple research projects, including monitoring timelines, facilitating project-level tasks, and coordinating across teams on weekly deliverables;
    • Maintain up-to-date information on the status of research projects and provide regular status updates to key stakeholders within Zearn;
    • Collaborate with team members across Research, Marketing, Sales, Product and Leadership groups to ensure they are clear on project deliverables and timelines;
    • Schedule and manage agendas for meetings with internal stakeholders, as well as reporting on and tracking meeting outcomes for stakeholder groups.
  • Data Operations
    • Work closely with data and research analysts to conduct accurate and clean data pulls, and maintain up-to-date data dashboards for a range of research projects;
    • Support data collection and cleaning for large-scale projects that require the creation of cohesive data sets from diverse sources of data;
    • Fulfill requests for background research and data from cross-functional stakeholders, including competitor analysis, literature and citation reviews, and data dashboard development;
    • Support and gain exposure to applied mixed-methods research in the field of K-12 education.
  • Team Operations
    • Support the development of the Research team’s operational framework, including process mapping, project management systems, and people operations.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • 2-3 years of professional experience as a project or program coordinator in a research- or education-centered setting;
  • An appetite for learning, solving problems, and driving high-impact work in a fast-paced nonprofit environment;
  • The ability to keep multiple cross-functional projects on-track and assist team members in moving through tactical roadblocks to complete deliverables;
  • Experience building project plans and utilizing project management software such as Asana to track project progress;
  • Familiarity with data management tools such as STATA, SPSS, and Atlas.ti, as well as with quantitative and qualitative research methods;
  • Experience working with large-scale data sets, including data transfers, data cleaning and utilizing data dashboards; experience coding qualitative data is a plus;
  • Humility, a team-oriented mindset, and an eagerness to roll up your sleeves and dig into tactical work;

Location:

This role is remote, but you may be asked to travel as needed for business or team building purposes.
