The Opportunity

Customers shop our network of top retailers, pay for their purchases over time in interest-free installments, and manage it all through our simple app interface.

Afterpay’s Retail Marketing team is passionately focused on our customers, on creative problem solving and on cross-functional partnerships dedicated to our in-store program. This Retail Marketing Strategy Manager will lead consumer marketing strategy & execution of Afterpay in stores, responsible for shaping a seamless omnichannel customer experience by using data & working with Retailers to inform actionable insights across the Retail Marketing organization alongside the VP of Retail Marketing. 

Success in this Role
You live and breathe the physical Retail experience: you’re motivated by the idea of creating a seamless customer experience that starts or ends in a physical brick-and-mortar store. You look for patterns in the everyday consumer experience to build hypotheses and test them with analytical rigor. You’re a cross-functional influencer and thrive in an environment that requires collaboration between creative and operational teams.

We are much more than our job descriptions, but here’s where you will begin….

Collaborate with Retail & Marketing leaders across the organization to analyze and identify growth levers to rapidly scale Afterpay’s in-store business
Identify & diagnose core challenges using data-first methodologies.  Then create a plan to resolve and then drive the cross functional execution of that plan.
Build core processes to streamline milestones across the business, bringing together calendars from marketing & creative to field & education 
Understand and advocate for the omnichannel consumer journey & experience and drive initiatives that drive to greater in-store awareness, engagement and use.
Partner with Retail and internal partner teams to identify and develop strategies for gathering consumer and retailer insights.
Synthesize data points into actionable insights that can be shared across the business, with retail partners, media, industry and other relevant groups
Lead efforts to evaluate the in-store experience across teams and develop solution-oriented initiatives
Partner with cross-functional consumer insights teams to surface actionable insights that lead to improved in-store experiences and greater ROI.
Support with budgeting and forecasting as needed

Who are you? (Qualifications) 
Like us, you’ll be deeply committed to delivering positive outcomes for customers and passionate about shaping the future of Afterpay.

5+ years experience in high growth environments, strategy consulting or investment banking focused on the Retail sector, internal insights & strategy teams at Retail Technology companies or fast-paced Retailers
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively with business partners, creative leaders and 3rd party vendors
A champion & advocate of team success, someone whose energy and enthusiasm inspires others to drive initiatives forward & celebrate the wins
Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing
Self-starter who leans in and can multitask in fast-paced and often ambiguous environments
