Become part of the Finance team at Pivotal as the leader of our global revenue recognition team as well as our global order to cash process team. We are looking for an experienced leader to join our finance and accounting team and provide guidance and leadership with regard to GAAP compliance and process execution. This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will have frequent interactions with sales, sales-operations, the legal department, the CFO, general management and other key members of finance.

The person joining our team will have discretion in molding existing processes and creating new ones. Seeking someone to mitigate revenue recognition risk while also supporting and enabling our sales process (deal structuring, order to cash management, etc.). The role is broad in scope and responsibility and presents a great challenge to anyone looking to grow within Pivotal.


  • Manage the revenue recognition team (1 analyst) as well as the order management team (1 analyst) and the credit & collections team (AR Manager with a couple of analysts). Grow the team as the business continues to grow
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP revenue recognition criteria (software revenue recognition)
  • Complex deal structuring
  • Business partner to sales, legal and the business
  • Revenue forecasting
  • Owner of the order to cash process including order management and credit and collections. Ensure controls, process improvement, business efficiencies, etc.
  • Improve SLAs related to order processing, invoicing, collections/DSO, etc.
  • Interface with external auditors
  • Lead the assessment and implementation of the new revenue recognition standard

  • Bachelors degree in business or accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 10+ years experience
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, most notably Excel
